The CeCe Bear® Initiative

In January of 2011, the CeCe Bear® was unveiled:

CeCe’s twin sister Reese designed the CeCe Bear® herself. North American Bear Company invited Reese to participate in their “My Own Bear” program where they turn children’s drawings into huggable friends. Her original drawing is featured on the bear’s hand tag, along with the story that inspired the design.

In partnership with the North American Bear Company, The CeCe Bear® Initiative will be the primary driver for fundraising. In the spirit of the stuffed bunny that was given to CeCe during one of our first extended hospital stays, the customized bear will be donated to the leading medical centers in the country. At the centers, clinicians will distribute the CeCe Bear®, free of charge, to each of their patients diagnosed with epilepsy. To begin, the first year’s goal is to deliver 2,000 bears.
