Child Assistance Grant Program
While researchers work aggressively towards finding better treatments and a cure for those with epilepsy, CeCe Cares also recognizes the burden placed upon families and care givers responsible for individuals affected by intractable forms of childhood epilepsies. To ease this burden, we have established the CeCe Cares Child Assistance Grant (CAG) Program.
The purpose of the CAG Program is to offer grants to patients with catastrophic forms of epilepsy to help cover the cost of necessary medical expenses associated with these conditions that are not covered through private insurance or other assistance programs.
Items that are currently covered under this program:
- Medication
- Durable medical goods (such as wheelchairs and car seats)
- Communication devices (such as iPad and associated applications)
- Costs associated with the implementation of the ketogenic diet
- Recreational items (helmet, cooling vest, orthotics, etc.)
- Sleep Monitor Devices (such as the Emfit®)
Items that are not currently covered under our program:
- Travel expenses associated with medical treatments
- Medical bills
- Therapy Programs
- Assistance Pets
If the equipment or therapy you are interested in is not listed above, please contact us with more details on the requested item and we can review its eligibility.
The Child Assistance Grant Program will be accepting grants for 2013 beginning March 15th, 2013. All applications received before this date must re-apply after March 15, 2013. When funds are depleted for the year, the program will be closed until the next application cycle and notification will be placed on our website. Applications will be reviewed and approved on a first-come, first-served basis. An applicant may apply once per grant cycle with a yearly maximum of $1,500 and a life-time award maximum of $7,500.
